2-(4-Methyl-2-oxo-3-(3-oxobutyl)cyclohexyl)propanal
It is one of impurity present in Artemether, artemether is metabolized into the metabolite dihydroartemisinin, works against the erythrocytic stages of P. falciparum by inhibiting nucleic acid and protein synthesis, and mechanism of action of peroxide antimalarials involves the interaction of the peroxide-containing drug with heme, a hemoglobin degradation byproduct, derived from proteolysis of hemoglobin, which is used in the treatment of acute uncomplicated malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum.
