(3R,4R,5S)-2-(4-Chloro-3-(4-(((S)-tetrahydrofuran-3-yl)oxy)benzyl)phenyl)-5-((R)-1,2-dihydroxyethyl)tetrahydrofuran-3,4-diol or (3R,4R,5S)-2-(4-Chloro-3-(4-(((S)-tetrahydrofuran-3-yl)oxy)benzyl)phenyl)-5-((R)-1,2-dihydroxy ethyl)tetrahydrofuran-3,4-dio, is an SGLT2 inhibitor is used to improve glycemic control and responsible for the reabsorption of glucose in the kidney and lowers blood glucose and responsible for the reabsorption of glucose and improve glycemic control. Empagliflozin is 86.2% protein-bound in plasma and its half-life is 12.4 h.
