5635-70-1: Clomifene EP Impurity C (HCl Salt)
It is an impurity present in Clomifene. Clomifene is a nonsteroidal, ovulatory stimulant that acts as a selective estrogen receptor modulator. which leads to multiple ovulation and hence increases the risk of conceiving twins, also increases the risk of ovarian cancer and weight gain. Clomifene is interacting with estrogen receptor-containing tissues, including the hypothalamus, pituitary, ovary, endometrium, vagina, and cervix. they compete with estrogen for estrogen receptor binding sites. They initiate steroidogenesis and folliculogenesis growth of the ovarian follicle and increase the circulating level of estradiol.
