Also known as Valganciclovir Homolog, it may be found as an impurity in the synthesis of Valganciclovir. Valganciclovir is an L-valyl ester prodrug of ganciclovir. It is used as prophylactic antiviral therapy for the treatment of Cytomegalovirus and is also used in patients who have impaired immune systems.
