L-Lysine S-(Carboxymethyl)-L-Cysteine (CAS No.49673-81-6) is an impurity present in Carbocisteine. Carbocisteine is a glucoregulatory drug, that corrects fucose and sialic acid contents in mucus. carbocisteine's expectorant action on airway mucus is postulated to involve the regulation of fucose and sialic acid contents on mucins. which is an anti-inflammatory mucolytic agent.
