D-Glu(4)-Teriparatida es una impureza peptídica de teriparatida derivada de desamidación oxidativa, en la que el residuo nativo Asn4 se sustituye por ácido D-glutámico, generando una variante de secuencia diastereomérica con distribución de carga y comportamiento conformacional alterados. Estas especies pueden originarse durante la síntesis peptídica, por racemización o como subproductos asociados a estrés mediante rutas de desamidación de Asn y epimerización. Al no disponerse de fórmula molecular ni peso molecular, la caracterización depende de LC-MS de masa intacta, mapeo peptídico por LC-MS/MS y técnicas ortogonales como RP-HPLC o electroforesis capilar. Su evaluación se integra en el control de impurezas de terapéuticos peptídicos.
