Con fórmula molecular C5H14Cl2N2 y peso molecular de 173.08 g/mol, suele aparecer como impureza relacionada con el proceso o como intermedio sintético en la química de piperidinas, debido a resolución estereoquímica incompleta o a rutas secundarias durante la aminación reductora y la formación del anillo.
