FAQ
How does alginate therapy work?
Alginates, which are derivatives of clinic acid, work in an unusual way to cure GERD by erecting a mechanical barrier that pushes the postprandial acid pocket out of the way. They form a raft that localizes to the acid pocket in the proximal stomach when gastric acid is present and causes them to precipitate into a gel.
Alginate, does it reduce bleeding?
Seaweed-based alginate dressings absorb exudate and aid in bleeding control. They maintain a perfect moist wound healing environment by absorbing exudate away from the wound.
Is alginate a hemostatic?
To produce superior hemostatic effects, the alginate hemostatic materials transform into hydrogels after absorbing blood or bodily fluids, attach to the wound surface, close capillaries and tiny blood vessels, and physically compress the bleeding site. The most used alginate hemostatic substance is calcium alginate.
