Perindoprilat lowers blood pressure by antagonizing the effect of the RAAS, which is a homeostatic mechanism for regulating the hemodynamics of water and electrolyte balance. In the bloodstream, renin cleaves circulating angiotensinogen to ATI, and ATII regulates blood pressure. renal blood pressure reduced renin is released from the granular cells of the juxtaglomerular apparatus in the kidneys. which is subsequently cleaved to ATII by ACE.which is used to treat hypertension and moderate congestive heart failure.
