Also known as 2-Aminobenzophenone, it is an impurity present in Nepafenac that is an NSAID which shows that preoperative treatment using nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs has shown to be efficient in maintaining mydriasis throughout cataract surgery with the mechanism of their action is dependent on their ability to cause cyclooxygenase inhibition.
