Also known as Azithromycin Impurity E, it is an impurity of Azithromycin. Azithromycin is the first member of a group that belongs to macrolide antibiotics called azalides. It is an effective therapeutic agent for the oral treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, upper and lower respiratory tract infections and skin structure infections.
