Enalapril Impurity 2 or L-Alanine (CAS No.56-41-7) or (2S)-2-Aminopropanoic Acid. Enalapril is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed after absorption to form the active angiotensin-converting enzyme Enalaprilat. It is administered orally. It decreases blood pressure by lowering peripheral resistance without increasing heart rate. It is well tolerated and safe.
