Enalapril EP Impurity D or Enalapril Dione/ Enalapril Diketopiperazine (CAS No.115729-52-7) or ethyl (S)-2-((3R,8aS)-3-methyl-1,4-dioxohexahydropyrrolo[1,2-a]pyrazin-2(1H)-yl)-4-phenylbutanoate. Enalapril is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed after absorption to form the active angiotensin-converting enzyme Enalaprilat. It is administered orally. It decreases blood pressure by lowering peripheral resistance without increasing heart rate. It is well tolerated and safe.
