Sumatriptan Nitroso Impurity
It is an impurity present in Sumatriptan, Sumatriptan is an agonist of 5-HT1B and 5-HT1D. Sumatriptan is predominantly metabolized by monoamine oxidase. The metabolites are the inactive indole acetic acid and indole acetic acid glucuronide. Sumatriptan decreases carotid arterial blood flow, but increases blood flow velocity in the internal carotid artery and middle cerebral artery, Sumatriptan is a serotonin receptor agonist commonly used to treat migraines and sometimes cluster headaches.
