Description

Diclofenac EP Impurity F, also designated Diclofenac Related Compound F or Diclofenac Acetamide, is the anilide acetamide analogue of diclofenac with CAS 560075-65-2, molecular formula C14H10Cl3NO, and molecular weight 314.59 g/mol. Structurally, it reflects amide formation at the phenylacetic side chain and is typically associated with synthetic or hydrolytic side reactions during diclofenac manufacture. Because the molecule contains three chloro substituents and a non-ionizable amide, trace-level assessment generally requires LC-MS/MS or LC-HRMS, often complemented by LC-UV and, where volatility permits, GC-MS confirmation. Its presence is relevant to impurity profiling and process characterization under pharmacopoeial and ICH impurity frameworks.
