La D-alanina (CAS 338-69-2) es el enantiómero D de la alanina, un aminoácido proteinogénico quiral y una impureza estereoquímica relevante para evaluar la pureza enantiomérica. Con fórmula molecular C3H7NO2 y peso molecular de 89,09 g/mol, suele originarse por racemización durante la síntesis, el almacenamiento o el tratamiento térmico severo de materiales basados en L-alanina. Su presencia modifica la rotación óptica y puede indicar inestabilidad configuracional en sustancias derivadas de aminoácidos. Su cuantificación suele requerir métodos de LC quiral, a menudo acoplados a MS, y puede complementarse con electroforesis capilar o derivatización seguida de LC-MS/MS para resolución a nivel traza.
