Also known as Erythromycin A Oxime or Roxithromycin EP Impurity C, it is adulteration in Roxithromycin. Roxithromycin is an orally taken antibacterial macrolide that is structurally related to erythromycin and is stable in acid. It has antibacterial activity against Chlamydia trachomatis, Staphylococcus aureus, S. epidermidis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, S. pyogenes, Branhamella catarrhalis, Legionella pneumophila, Gardnerella vaginalis, Haemophilus ducreyi, and some anaerobes.
